DIAL LOG

Meet the Dialsmith Team: Courtney Ulrich

It’s been a while since we had a new addition to our “Meet the Dialsmith Team” series, where we introduce you to our team members by making them respond to a short list of rapid-fire questions. Well, the wait was worth it as this time around, we profile our newest addition to the Dialsmith team, Administrative Assistant Courtney Ulrich. Welcome Courtney! And before you’ve even had the chance to organize your desk, we hope you don’t mind too much if we put you on the spot…

courtney_ulrich_photoboothWhen off the clock, you can find me… running, training, hiking with my dog, or planning my next international travel adventure!

Portland is… fun. I love going in to the city for shows, festivals, and new restaurants. Not sure if I could ever live in the city though.

The best thing I’ve ever eaten was… Banana Nutella Rotee. It’s a common street food in Thailand. It’s a crepe, cooked in butter, folded over sliced banana, with Nutella spread (and then melting) on top. It is often eaten with just a toothpick.

Not a lot of people know this, but… I hate flying. I love to travel and going new places, but I get physically anxious on planes. I mean white-knuckle gripping the arm rest during take-off anxious. Once we’re in the air – as long as I don’t focus on the fact that I’m usually over nothing but vast ocean – I am fine.

I’m pretty good at… playing the piano. Started lessons at 7 and find it quite relaxing. I’m not amazing or anything, but I’m decent.

If you ask nicely, I’ll… bake whatever you want for your birthday. It may not be pretty – cake decorating is not my specialty, but it’ll probably be yummy!

My favorite part of my job is… how detailed and organized I get to be I guess. It’s only day four as I type this, so can you as me again in a few months?

The strangest thing I’ve seen our dials used for was… Well, I don’t think I am qualified to answer this question yet. Check back in six months.
