Courtney Bouwkamp

Courtney Ulrich - Administrative AssistantCourtney Bouwkamp
Office Manager / Project Assistant

Courtney is our jack of all trades here at Dialsmith. She plays a critical support role for our sales and marketing teams, keeping the gears running smoothly and efficiently. In her non-Dialsmith life, she’s pursuing a masters degree in Global Development and Justice at Multnomah University and serves on the board and leads international mission trips for a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending extreme poverty around the world. Pretty cool stuff.

In Her Own Words…

What is the most interesting or memorable project you’ve been a part of?

The most memorable project I have ever been part of was at an old job and we raised money to build a new home for a family in Rwanda who had been paying rent to live in their friend’s chicken coup.

What is one thing people don’t generally know about you?

I’m scared of heights, but I have been skydiving twice and love it!

Where in the world do you most want to visit?

Tanzania. I want to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro!

What’s the strangest thing on your desk?

I guess the mini robot figurine I got when I started. There’s not much else on my desk at the moment.

What’s the best hotel amenity you’ve ever received?

In Thailand, on New Years Eve, we all came back to our rooms to find gift bags of fresh fruit!

What is your favorite / least favorite?

Word: Least favorite – never. Favorite – yet. As in “I haven’t tried that yet.” or “I haven’t been there yet.”

Smell: Least favorite – cigarette smoke. Favorite – soup simmering on the stove all day.

Sound: Least Favorite – an animal whining/crying. Favorite sound – my nephew and niece laughing.

What’s your idea of a perfect weekend morning?

A cup of tea, a wood burning fireplace, my dog curled up next to me and a good book to read. Preferably at the cabin.

What food could you not live without?

Hummus. I love the stuff. I go through a couple of containers of it each week. I put it on vegetable and rice bowls, crackers, tortillas, and sometimes I just eat it by the spoonful.

Perfect sandwich?

When I’m not eating vegan….egg fried over medium in leftover bacon grease, bacon, cheese melted over the bacon and egg with spinach and avocado on toasted english muffin with mayo. Make sure to pop the yolk for dipping in! (Wow, when Courtney goes non-vegan, she really goes non-vegan!)

What’s your favorite drink?

A really good glass of Pinot Noir.

In your next life you’d like to be?

A dog in my friend Eileen’s family. Those dogs are so spoiled and happy!
