In His Own Words…

What is the most interesting or memorable project you’ve been a part of?

I’ve been part of a ton of memorable projects over the years; Presidential campaigns, Food Network reality TV shows, Super Bowl ad testing, highly visible litigation research, and world-wide localized sales trainings to name a few. But the one that is most memorable is attending a TED Annual conference and dial testing the TED Talks. It was truly inspirational and memorable!

What is one thing people don’t generally know about you?

My wife and I were married in the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy. It took over three months of planning and overcoming governmental red-tape. We didn’t know until the day before the ceremony if it would actually happen. Funny thing – neither of us are Italian or had been to Italy prior to that trip.

Where in the world do you most want to visit?

I’ve been very fortunate to have visited some great places in the past few years – ate street food in Thailand; dove the Great Barrier Reef; hiked the Great Wall; toured the Taj, listened to monks chant in Notre Dame Cathedral… but there’s something to be said about coming home to Portland, Oregon!

What’s the strangest thing on your desk?

I have a Lava Lamp. Kind of retro, but I like it. But there’s also a flying rubber chicken…

What’s the best hotel amenity you’ve ever received?

A chocolate cake and a bottle of Maker’s Mark bourbon. A nice perk to offset many a night away from home and traveling on a birthday. I earned it that year!!

What is your favorite / least favorite:

Word: Dada!  /  Can’t
Smell:  Fresh baked ______  /  The diaper genie – there’s nothing magical about it!
Sound: My toddler’s sweet little giggle  /  When that sweet little giggle turns to an ear-piercing screech!

What’s your idea of a perfect weekend morning?

When my toddler lets me sleep past 6 a.m. and greets me at her crib with a big hug and kiss.

What food could you not live without?

Red meat! Medium rare T-bone, Porterhouse, bone-in Ribeye.

Perfect sandwich?

A “wet” Italian sandwich: fresh baked Italian bread, an Italian sausage, shaved Italian beef, provolone, sautéed onions, sweet peppers and hot peppers then dipped in au jus. It’s messy, but the perfect sandwich!

What’s your favorite drink?

The perfect Manhattan: 2 parts bourbon, part Liquor 43, part sweet vermouth served straight up with 3 dried cherries.

In your next life you’d like to be?

Not sure that there’s much I’d change!
